Geographic Boundaries

Geographic Boundries

The boundaries of the GO KIZ, though spread out, are designed to incorporate the primary campus research facilities and the industrial and commercial zone space available for development or occupancy around those facilities.

The combined zone includes:
  • South Side Works
  • Pittsburgh Technology Center
  • Panther Junction Hollow
  • the western portal area of Fifth and Forbes Avenues
  • central Oakland (including areas within three blocks of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University campuses)
  • the Craig Street corridor to Bloomfield
  • the Baum-Center (Hillman Cancer Institute) corridor from Craig to Highland
  • the 40th Street corridor down to the area bounded by Butler, 40th and 51st Streets in Lawrenceville
  • UPARC in Harmarville.

In addition, the zone has incorporated incubator locations that are operated by GO KIZ partners including PLSG's spaces on Sidney Street on the South Side and Technology Drive along Second Avenue, among others.
